GTY is not just for high schoolers anymore! Glendale Temple Youth is Temple Sinai’s youth program for grades K-12. By expanding our youth program, our goal is to bring quality, fun, and inclusive programming for all Jewish youth. Youth Groups are divided by age to allow for age appropriate and specific programming outside of Religious School and services. Below is a description of all of our wonderful youth groups.
GTY K-1, GTY 2-3, and GTY 4-5
Our Kindergarten through Fifth graders meet in the Fall and Spring for events that are designed just for them. Meet up with your classmates or meet new friends for an awesome event. Open to all Jewish K-5th graders.
Jr. TY
Formerly known as our “Junior Youth Group”, Jr. GTY is our active group for middle schoolers. Jr. GTY has four events a year, including at least one off-site event. Past events have included K-1 Racing, Laser Tag, and the famous “Chocolate Seder”.
Sr. GTY
Sr. GTY is our high school youth group (grades 9-12) and the namesake of our youth program. Glendale Temple Youth is active in NFTY (North American Federation for Temple Youth), the youth arm of the URJ (Union for Reform Judaism) and attend regional NFTY SoCal events up to five times a year. GTY meets up regularly for on and off site for fun and interesting events with a Jewish frame.
GTY Board: A Leadership Training Experience
GTY Board is a new way of looking at the TYG (temple youth group) experience. Meetings will focus on training teens to be active leaders and teaching the skills necessary for running successful events, programs and volunteer opportunities. Teens will gain real life skills that are applicable to the classroom, college campus, boardroom and beyond. All Sr. GTY members are eligible to apply for GTY Board.
