Mitzvah Day
The entire congregation is invited to participate in this day in which we perform a variety of projects and programs. It is scheduled to coincide with the City of Los Angeles’ Big Sunday, usually in May. Projects for younger religious school classes are generally held at the temple, and older groups and adults can register
for one of the hundreds of projects through Big Sunday at http://www.bigsunday.org.
Some of the projects we have done include: Collecting and packaging toiletries for homeless shelter; making stuffed frogs for police stations; hosting a blood drive; writing letters on behalf of prisoners of conscience; making quilts for Project Linus; preparing gift bags for patients at City of Hope; making pet beds for
animal shelter; etc.
Your ideas for additional projects are welcomed!
